Me And Jimmy

Me and Jimmy in the cold, sharing cigarettes and beer,
That we lifted out from Bohacks, man it’s so easy there.
With the collars of our pea coats turned up high to warm our ears,
There’s a dirty cold in Queens this time of year.
So we walked to Union Turnpike; hopped a train into the city
Met two girls in Central Park, though neither one was pretty
They looked like angels with their brown hair full of snow
When they held you tight man you forgot about that cold
But then Jimmy got arrested when we went down to Soho
I left my best friend behind because he ran too slow.

Could you tell the truth from yesterday’s lies
Sometimes my vision’s at it’s best when I cover my eyes
And I’m workin’ real hard tryin’ to learn this dance
But I keep stumblin’ around like a giant in a trance
Tryin’ hard not to break too much in this china shop of chance,

Then my hobo said,” Call that family man outside,”
“Are you so well fed you can’t swallow your pride”
“Time is a gracious hostess she’ll take you for a ride”
“You were expecting something but it’s she who decides”

You try and believe in the cause and effect,
But it’s not that simple when you’re full of regrets.
So you bite your tongue out of a deep respect,
But you still see red from all that blood that you let

Me and Jimmy in the cold, sharing cigarettes and beer
We shoplifted out from Bohacks man it’s so easy there,
And could you tell the truth from yesterday’s lies,
Or is your vision at it’s best when you cover your eyes?
Is your vision at it’s best when you cover your eyes?
Is your vision at it’s best when you cover your eyes?
